Quinn knelt to
help the woman up. “Are you hurt?”

He held her by the
shoulders as she held her head and wavered unsteadily on her feet. Not
rail-thin like the drugged starlets who haunted the casinos. Her skin was
porcelain covered in gauze and cold as ice, but her curves were hotter than
Hades. Her hips were lush and her breasts would fill his hands. Her sickly
pallor made her seem too far-gone to be saved from death. He knew death; it was
his business.

           She was a beautiful cadaver.

  1. Intriguing story line! So, I’m guessing she’s a sexy vampire and he is…?? Looking forward to the next instalment.

  2. Hi Debbie, he is in it deep. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

  3. Hi Veronica, yes, it’s going to get dark 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I like the juxtaposition between the sensual way it started out and then became kind of creepy when it was revealed this is a corpse.

  5. Thanks, Gemma! I guess I accomplished what I set out to do 🙂

  6. Yes, Carrie-Ann! Beautiful is the total opposite of cadaver – usually. With Layala, it sort of makes sense. 🙂

  7. Hi Kayci! This is a paranormal romance, Book 2 of the Cardiff series. Thanks 🙂
