I’m thinking of you this Christmas:
The corner grocer who smiles even though I can count on one hand the number of teeth in his mouth.
The energetic paperboy who makes sure not to break the glass with his missile because I smile at him.
The saxophone players on the A Train who missed their stop to play Carol of the Bells for us. To all who laughed because we missed our stop and rode across the bridge to Far Rockaway – again.
Strangers smiling, sharing with each other and laughing together. I’m thinking of you this Christmas. Bring on good cheer.
