Wicked Wednesday: Sabrina York and Rising Green

It is always a treat to have the very entertaining Sabrina York on the blog! Get to know Sabrina better as she answers my ten.

Afterward, check out her erotic horror short, Rising Green, just in time for Halloween!

Author Interview: Sabrina York

How did you choose your genre? What made you write
this book?

Oh, I didn’t choose this
genre. It chose me. I never in a million years thought I would be writing
erotica—and loving it! I certainly never thought I would write an erotic
horror. I actually wrote it on a dare from my critique partner Mark Henry, who
writes about zombies.

Writers write what they know, and must observe the
world. Are you a first born, middle or last child and how does this shape your
view of the world?

I am the middle child, so I
am always trying to find a balance in my world. That’s not always possible.
Maybe that’s why I became a writer. I have a little more control over what can
happen in that universe. I mean, when my characters quit bossing me around.

Where is your favorite place to write?

Like a mushroom, I am most
productive in a dark and lonely place. I tend to get distracted easily, so
there can be no sparkly things around. And I have to stock up on boring foods
because I will snack if it’s yummy and eat only when my stomach growls if it’s
vegetables. I’ve been known to sit in one position for ten hours at a stretch.
Once I hit the sweet spot, I don’t want to stop.

How do you feel about killing your darlings, and what
do you do with the remains?

I struggled with that for a
long time. Now I am blood thirsty and murder them with glee. (But I believe in
reincarnation—especially for characters—so it’s okay.) And, of course, I bury
them in a file in the dark recesses of my hard drive. No energy is ever lost or
wasted in my universe.

You are introduced to your favorite author. Who is it,
and what is that one burning question you must ask them?

I love so many authors—many
of which I’ve had the pleasure to meet at conferences or other meetings—it’s
hard to pick. My absolute favorite authors are my critique partners. Because
they are brave and fiercely loyal. The burning question I would ask them is:
Why do you still put up with me?

Inquiring minds want to know…tell readers something
about you that no one knows.

I write naughty, sexy,
illicit romances with hard, handsome heroes and bold, brash heroines…and I am
painfully shy around men—well, the hard and handsome ones, at least.

You are stranded on a deserted island with only a back
pack for company. What three items are in your survival pack?

A back pack is not very good
company. I would like a magic pen and paper (that never run out) and, of
course, George Clooney.

If you could have one super power in your existence,
what would it be?

It would be to write
faster.

Favorite snack?

Blue cheese melted on Melba
toast. Mmmm.

Indy 500 – Do you know how to get where you’re going
or do you drive the speed limit?

I always try to drive the speed limit. But like I mentioned, I get distracted. By my own thoughts. When stories are bubbling, well, anything can happen! I try not to write in the car. I also try – very hard – not to drive faster than the car in front of me.

Chaos erupts for members of a
scientific expedition on a remote island when Sage, the team’s botanist, is
impregnated with the spores of an alien plant form. She’s always been the
crew’s “ice princess” but now something’s changed. Now something is driving
her, raging through her, compelling her to screw every man on the desolate,
godforsaken rock. Again and again and again.

What the very
appreciative men don’t realize is that each illicit interaction, each
hedonistic commingling, takes its toll on them as well. And no one can survive
the torturous pleasure unscathed.

Reader Advisory: Forget
happy endings and get ready for steamy erotic horror that will shock you even
as it turns you on.

In The Key Of Love

I should have known I would end up here... Give me a good book and I'm in heaven. Especially romance, mystery, mayhem, the fantastic and the fey. Give me a laptop and I'm writing any one of these, and not in any particular order.
