At
3:00 a.m., when inspiration is both a blessing and a curse,
you don’t want to
quibble over who gets the Stradivarius, or who gets Angel. But some things just
cannot be ignored. Leave Angel hanging over a cliff while I get 40 winks (well,
2 winks, to be exact)? Not on her watch. Angel is no angel.

Oh,
and then there’s my muse. I’ll just let her do the talking:

I’ve got an idea, and she’s sleeping…

I
should probably let her sleep. Danita doesn’t like it when her muse bombards
her with musings while she’s getting those 2 winks. But this can’t wait.

Danita’s
too busy at work during the day to hear me. Later, we had a heart-wrenching
scene of betrayal to re-write. Honestly, it took so much out of me that I had
to leave her to it.

Now,
here she is, comfy-cozy wrapped in slumber, notepad and pen at the ready on the
bedside night table. What to do, what to do….

‘I’ll wake her up,’ Angel’s British accent is
clipped with mischief, but red-rouged lips turn up in a moue when Falcon wraps
his arms around her.

I
smile gratefully at Falcon, who is never very far away from his Angel. He’ll
keep her busy this night. Anyway, Danita has heard quite enough from Ms. Your
Way or the Highway. Besides, who is better than me – her muse – to get the
point across?

A
dream is what we need now… Orange talons reach to the sky, turning day into
fiery night. I almost turn away from this re-written scene of devastation
Danita has not yet gotten out of her system. Through the flames I go, holding
my breath through the smell of brimstone and closing my ears against the cries of
the dying.

On
the other side, I wait for Angel’s mum, Amelie. The flames die down as Amelie
approaches. The sky lightens to purple pink.

Danita
sighs, turning on her side. It won’t always be this way, but Amelie’s peaceful
interlude is just right for my idea.

Danita
must see beyond the storm that is il Dragone, before the blood of the Cardiff’s
was spilled. To the beginning and Angel’s father Roman and the other sentinels,
to family birthright and promises made but unfulfilled.

From
under the cover, a hand emerges, searching for the notepad on the night table.

It
is still dark but Danita will not turn on the light. She has another hour
before the alarm will sound to start her day. But this can’t wait. Now she
knows how to stop il Dragone.

Danita
puts the pen down just as the alarm sounds. Even though I am her beloved muse,
I’m feeling a bit like naughty Angel for invading her dreams. I’m away before
she notices.

Danita
will forgive me, she always does. She indulges her muse. Don’t you?

Falcon’s
Angel blurb

Angelina is a classical violinist and daughter of a dynasty with
one passion; her Stradivarius.

Falcon wants the Stradivarius in her possession, and goes
undercover to track down a thief. But he is not the only killer in search of
the violin.

il Dragone, a devil-worshiping cult, wants revenge for a past only
they can remember.

Angelina wants to go unrecognized when she leaves her family’s
Yorkshire estate to play in a symphony in Italy. But the Stradivarius, a gift
from her deceased instructor, opens a door to hatred that is centuries old.

Falcon’s Angel is a paranormal romance of love that ended in
tragedy in eighteenth century England. That love is tested in a fight of good
versus evil some two hundred years later. This time around Falcon and Angel
have an opportunity to learn something that can put a stop to the cycle of
murder and mayhem.

Falcon’s Angel is available now. Read an excerpt here.

The
Cardiff Family Series

I
am editing Entwined, the second novel in the Cardiff Family series. Angel’s
parents wait somewhat impatiently to explain her unique ancestry in their story.
Her uncle is on the verge of becoming immortal. He and I are still debating
that outcome in Book Three: Dark Rising.

Danita’s Bio

If you asked me which is easier, writing songs or writing novels,
I would say it was the former.
Melodies and rhymes are second nature. What my
characters want is another thing entirely. With my debut novel,
Falcon’s Angel, I learned to listen to
my spunky heroine and sinfully
confident hero. They’re funny and in danger, and that’s just the way they want
it. Lesson learned: don’t try to save them.

When I’m not writing, I exercise my lungs at my
son’s soccer matches and our favorite theme park, because everyone knows it’s
easier on the stomach to scream your way down a roller coaster.

  2. What a great hop!
My indulgence: CHOCOLATE & EROTIC PNR BOOKS! And not feeling guilty about it at all. LOL
I am a sucker for the Happily Ever After. Romance books almost always have the HEA and I love them because of it. I especially like the PNR books with hot sexy alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines.
Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>

  5. Elizabeth, is David Gandy your boyfriend too? 🙂

That’s fine, thers’s enough of that 6’3″ hunk to go around!

  6. Danita, my bud! Congrats on all your success! My favorite things about romance are the “ah” feelings you get after finishing a good book. The thrills, the torment and a satisfying ending get me every single time. And of course, a hunky man doesn’t hurt one bit…well, hopefully he’ll hurt a little (i.e. nibbles are acceptable)!

  7. Hey babe! And fellow LSB author extraordinaire 🙂

Definitely love those stories that make you feel a part of it all. And I don’t have to tell you about those hunks – I know you’re feeling me 🙂

  8. Hi Cassandra!

You are so right – when you have to work for the relationship love is so much sweeter. 🙂

  9. I love the HEA. I also love that feeling of falling in love again with each new story.

  11. Hi Jan!

It’s kind of inspiring to witness each personal journey of love, isn’t it? That’s why I will always write romance. 🙂
